A Review Of Riviera Nayarit Vacations

By Timothy Miller

One of the best tourist destinations in South America is Mexico. Every year, thousands of tourists visit to enjoy the long stretches of coastal sandy beaches. Here is a sneak preview of what one should expect from Riviera Nayarit vacations.

This is a region that occupies a 200 mile coastal stretch in Mexico. It is filled with pristine beaches, resorts and picturesque towns besides having a pretty unique history. As the region generates a great deal of revenue through tourism, the government develops it on a regular basis. The locations below are some of the most visited by tourists all year round.

Most tourists love to begin their tour of the region by heading to Sayulita. The place has a low key status and gives tourists a kind of tranquility that is unmatchable across the country. Many also know it for the low rise buildings and general bohemian feel in its architecture. It is common to see tourists walking barefoot during their casual strolls. Sayulita is largely regarded as a beach village and not a town.

The streets are always lined with vendors selling an assortment of curios and fresh fruits. If you are not up for walking barefoot, you can hop into one of the many golf carts that take tourists around the streets. The magnificent waves that pound the beach also make the place a favorite destination for surfers. It is common to see many people get surfing and paddle boarding lessons.

It should not be hard to find a great place for accommodation. The Playa Escondida Resort clearly stands out in the area. It is built atop a cliff next to the beach and has 24 rooms. Its rooms are all designed like villas, with the Mexican tiles on the floors, king size beds and spacious patios all looking outstanding. Both the young and old can enjoy a swim at the infinity pool without having to worry about safety. For the best rates, consider using a tour agency to oversee all your arrangements.

Punta Mita is another wonderful location located near Sayulita. The locals used to primarily depend on fishing before tourism took over. In the past, a spring festival would be held each year by the ancient Huichol Indians who used to inhabit the area. With an abundance of top class resorts, one need not think too much about where to get accommodation. International golf courses are a standard feature in most of the resorts. Tourists love using this area as a frontier to the Marietas Islands.

If you have an active interest in wildlife and general marine life, you should also head to Nuevo Vallarta. It lies on Banderas Bay, which holds the record for the biggest natural bay in the whole country. It is renowned for its large population of humpback whales, hawksbills and leatherback turtles throughout the year. The only Starbucks cafe in the entire Riviera Nayarit region is also situated here.

There are plenty of other interesting places. They include Puerto Vallarta, Chacala Bay and San Blas. They are filled with incredible beaches, wildlife and unique buildings. Plan to visit soon for a memorable vacation.
