Steps On How To Do A Chimney Cleaning

Chimneys are types of structures that are providing a proper ventilation for smoke and flue gases that are coming from stoves, fireplaces, boilers, or furnaces towards the outside atmosphere. These steps involve four different methods. First is to prepare for cleaning. But before starting the process, determine first whether the chimney would really need this process for cleaning. Second is to start cleaning the top then down to the bottom part. You need first to set up the ladder to be used in climbing the roof. You may also set up your ladder outside the house and lean it into house, but be sure that it is safe. So start by assembling the pipe section and brush to scrub the flue. The third method is to clean from bottom to top. Steps in the second method are also applied in using the pipe sections and brushes. After doing the same steps to clean from the bottom to the top, use the pulley system along with a brush and place it on the roof.

You may want someone to help you in this step by holding one rope and dropping the other side, the rope is attached with a brush at the center. Work together with your partner by using the ropes in pulling up and down the brush. This will work by scrubbing the chimney flue.

Lastly is removing dirt from flue entrance using the shovel and the spade. Reattach then the damper handle that was removed in the first method. A drop cloth or a plastic tarp may obtain debris, us a dustpan and a broom to clean it.
