Finding Costa Rica Beach Resorts To Visit

By Jennifer Fisher

Everyone loves taking time off of work, even if you are going to stay home. It is all the more enjoyable, though, if you have a vacation away from home planned. Costa Rica beach resorts provide you with a place to go where the temperature is never too hot or cold, and the pristine beaches and local culture are worth traveling for.

Costa Rica has a lot to offer people. It is located in Central America and has a very temperate climate, especially in the winter months, when the low temperature is still in the high 60s. Most months, the high is somewhere in the 80s, which makes this a fantastic destination anytime of year for people wanting to get away from it all.

There are many resorts and hotels in Costa Rica with all the amenities you could ask for. Though the complete list of amenities will vary from place to place, many have a few of the same stock ones. For example, no resort would be complete without a pool, even if the beach is just a few feet away. In fact, some places have public pools for everyone to enjoy, plus plunge pools, which are smaller pools meant for cooling off, that are private.

Bars where you can drink alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks alike are also widely available in most resorts. Some are located indoors, while others are outdoors. Some have bars poolside and even near the ocean, or at least provide wait staff to bring drinks to you while lounging.

There is likely at least one restaurant to eat at within the hotel. Many larger properties have multiple restaurants to eat at. Some are buffet style, while others may have regular sit down service with wait staff. Some even have themes, and most feature at least some local dishes and delicacies so you can get a true taste of the locale.

Since the beach is one of the biggest draws, a lot of activities you can experience during your stay center around the sand and surf. Many offer free chairs and towels to take with you while you sunbathe. A few luxurious ones may even offer private cabanas for individuals or families to spend time overlooking the water with some privacy. They may even bring food and drinks to these cabanas.

The beach is not the only fun thing you can do when vacationing in this Central American paradise, though. Check out the local wildlife, especially the colorful and exotic bird population and the cute howler monkeys. Sightseeing tours that include historical areas and shopping are great for souvenir hunters. Go alone, or take a guided tour that can usually be arranged with your hotel, though an additional fee may apply for offsite excursions.

When you return from your beach day or excursions, you can look forward to a clean room. Most properties offer single rooms with a patio or balcony. Some give you the option of renting a villa which can sleep an entire family and may include a kitchen and other amenities that most regular hotel rooms would not.
