What To Consider When Planning Laser Tag Games For Your Next Party

By Elaine Guthrie

Planning an event can be stressful and finding activities that everyone will like can be particularly challenging. If you are dealing with a group of individuals who like to be active, you may want to consider one of the many laser tag games that are available. There are several different options that you can pick from. Here are tips and tricks that you can use to find the right version for you.

Most people have played traditional forms of tag at some point in their lives. There are many different versions, some of which involve people sitting out or being frozen after being tagged. Instead of coming into physical contact with another player, laser versions use sensors and laser guns or handsets to register when a player has been tagged by another player.

Older players may want to try a version that has tactical elements in it as well as the athletic aspects of running. Some versions played in San Diego Ca include hiding in and around various structures and attempting to take out other players by zapping them. Winning can be accomplished either by not being zapped or, in some versions, having your gun register the highest number of points from zapping other players.

You may want to consider going to a facility that has a permanent set up. Often this will involve ramps, different levels, platforms and barriers that players can hide behind and climb on. Some others will have smoke machines, interesting lighting set ups and even music. They often have equipment that you can rent which is nice if you do not want to purchase anything.

In order to play laser tag, each player will need to have a set of sensors and a gun that is used to trip the sensors. You can find these sets online and in some toy stores as well. It can be helpful to look at reviews for each product before deciding which one you want to buy. Keep in mind that some sets will be better suited to younger players.

Younger children who have not had much experience with this game may do well with fewer rules at least for the first match or two. You may want to have a simple game of tag and if the children are zapped with a gun, simply have to sit out for a short period of time. This can make it more fun for the players but it may make it hard if you are trying to determine a winner.

You should also decide whether you want to divide your group of players into smaller groups and then have the winners of each match play off against one another. This can help keep things manageable as well as reducing the amount of equipment you will need to have on hand.

If this is your first time experiencing this kind of game, you are likely in for a treat. By making decisions about what form of game to play, where to play and how many players to involve, it becomes very easy to tailor the experience to any group size or age and experience of players.
