Thousands of tourists are attracted each year by the great Bulgarian sights, most popular of which is the Black Sea coast. Sunny Beach resort is the most famous and biggest one, located close to the city of Bourgas, followed by Golden Sands resort, which is close to the Sea capital of Bulgaria, Varna. Some tourists prefer these and other Bulgarian sandy beach resorts even to the famous Spain and Greece resorts, which are much more expensive. The nightlife here is active and dynamic and young people can visit any of the restaurants and night bars available.

Along the coast, beautiful small ancient towns of Balchik, Sozopol and Nesebar are located that attract people from all over the world who are interested in archaeology and valuable relics of the past.

The beauty and attraction of this country is not limited to the coast and the beach resorts, which are actually only a small part of Bulgarian treasures. It offers a lot more sights in other parts of the country, where tourists can meet with local people's culture, traditions and significant landmarks.

Rila Monastery is the most famous and reputable monastery in Bulgaria, visited by many locals and tourists throughout the year. It lies between the Rila Mountain's recesses opening a scenic panorama that tourists just cannot pass by. It is believed that the monastery is founded by the famous hermit St. John of Rila, who lived in a cave not too far away from the place where the monastery is built. He started its construction in the 10th century and the last reconstruction of the monastery is made in 19th century.

All nature lovers can visit at least one of the other beautiful attractions that Rila Mountain offers. This is the natural cirque formed by the Seven Rila Lakes. Their names are as follows: "The Tear", "The Eye", "The Kidney", "The Twins", "Three-Lobed Lake", "The Fish Lake" and "The Low Lake". The highest one is located at 2535 meters in height, while the lowest is located at 2095 meters in height. All of them are unique and specific and each of them deserves to be seen. Their names reveal much information about their shape and specifics. For example, "The Eye" is the deepest lake, while "The Twins" is a lake that is split into two parts and is the longest one.

Another beautiful place to visit is a medieval stronghold called Tsarevets and located in the Veliko Turnovo's old town. The city of Veliko Tarnovo is very beautiful itself, being a former Bulgarian capital and natural fortress.

In the center of Bulgaria, in the gorgeous city of Gabrovo, there is an ancient ethnographic museum, called Etara. It is open and reveals authentic Bulgarian ethnography, architecture and folklore. The tourists can buy traditional dishes and other ancient handicrafts that can be excellent souvenirs to remind them about this beautiful country.
