A survival backpack for sale can sustain a person for about 3 days.

Folks can buy bags that have already been assembled, they can add to them, or they can assemble their own. Many people who have these bags will periodically modify them to make certain the contain enough supplies. It is not always easy to know what supplies are needed. If you take a minute to make a list of you basic needs for survival you will be headed in the right direction.

The packs that are sold are designed to aid folks in an emergency. There are enough supplies to sustain an individual for tree days. However, many people plan for packs to provide support for much longer. Keep in mind that the bag should not be too heavy to carry. When purchasing a pack that is already assembled, choose one that has the basic supplies to carry you for 3 days. Water is at the top of the list of necessitates in any situation. When in a situation of survival water quickly becomes a very valuable item. The minimum that you should have per day is 1 liter which means you should carry three liters at least.

If packing for more than the 3 days it is important to have a purification system for water. The system can be a filter, iodine tablets, boiling the water. Packing a collapsible bottle gives you a way to store extra water. Coffee filters will stretch the life of the water filtering method. Bottled water may also an option.

Freeze dried foods and energy bars are ideal for a 72 hour pack. Freeze dried foods are prepared using boiling water. The foods last quite a while and are feather light they do not add too much to the backpacks weight. Setting your self up for assistance in the event of a disaster will require a loner term food plan.

Pack clothing that is similar to what you would carry for a backpacking weekend. For three days you should pack a hat, one pair of long pants, two pair of socks, a long and short sleeved shirt, a warm and waterproof jacket, and long underwear. Remember to consider the climate in your area so you pack accordingly.

To keep you warm and dry while you sleep pack a tarp or a tent. Carry along a bedroll or a sleeping bag. A first aid kit is a must as well as several ways for you to make a fire. Include something to cut wood, flashlights, a small cooking pot, and a knife. You should consider taking along a weapon to defend yourself if needed that is comfortable for you.
